1972年、イギリス・ロンドンにてスタートし、代名詞とも言えるスカルモチーフのリングが、今尚数多くのミュージシャンから支持を受け続けているジュエリーブランド”The Great Frog“と”NEIGHBORHOOD”がコラボレーションアイテムをリリース。
ROCK,PUNK,BIKERなどの反社会的なサブカルチャーのイメージをコンセプトにしたプロダクトは、イギリスのみならず世界中のコアなファンを魅了し続けている。
今回のコラボレーションでは、重厚感のある太めのシルバーリングのトップをフラットに成形したサークル型とスクエアー型の２種類のリングをラインナップ。トップ部分には”Fuck Em”の文字が刻印され、両サイドにはそれぞれのブランドがある”Tokyo”、“London”の都市名を配置したシンプルなデザインが特徴。
両ブランドのロゴをベースにスカルのグラフィックをレイアウトしたTシャツ、フーディーも同時リリースされる。
また、コラボレーションを記念したローンチパーティーの開催が決定！当日はネイバーフッドデザイナー”滝沢伸介”氏や、スペシャルゲストのDJもある他、会場限定のPOP-UP STOREもオープンし、アイテムの先行販売があるなど、本コラボレーションの世界観を音とビジュアルを交えて体感できる絶好のイベントとなっている。
 
Established in London in 1972, The Great Frog emerged out of the fog of phoney Beetles mania, it was pre-punk, pre-metal - just full on rock and roll.
Sin Takazawa came to The Great Frog in the late 80s and bought the infamous Eye Ring and Evil Skull Ring from the flagship Carnaby store.
Ever since then he has had a fascination with English music, fashion, culture and attitude which has greatly influenced his iconic Tokyo street label Neighbourhood.
Three decades later we have come full circle with owner and designer of The Great Frog Reino Lehtonen-Riley and Sin Takazawa coming together to cross collaborate on this project.
The thick heavy rings are inspired by punk rock attitude bearing the inscription “Fuck Em” as a two fingered salute to the establishment, a statement that resonants today with the state of Britain’s political ruling classes as it was in the 80s.
The same sentiment is felt throughout the world at the frustration with right-wing intolerant governments is universal, felt as much in Tokyo as it is felt in London.
This may seem like champagne socialism but we have come united together to say fuck em! Wear your wealth on your knuckles.
