東京には世界的に認知をされている浮世絵、江戸切子、銀器などの伝統工芸品の文化があります。江戸時代から現代に至るまで全国からあらゆるものが密集する日本の中枢として変化を遂げた東京は、ユニークで独創的な文化を絶えず発信し続けています。

この変化の中で私たちのデザインに関する考え方も変わり、ただ単に同じデザインを追い求めることから、新しいものと古き良き技法や伝統などを織り交ぜることが新鮮であり、魅力があると感じはじめました。

私たちには日本人として誇りに思い、継承すべき技術や伝統があります。建物を取り巻く場所や都市、その土地の歴史や地形、東京の文化や人、変化してきた時代に感謝をし、誠実にこのアイデンティティを受け継いでいきたい。
古来からの伝統やモノなども新しい考えで革新させ本物・本質にこだわりを持ち現代として表現する。私たちはそれを【東京デザイン】と捉えます。

A city driven by innovation and a world-class leader of unique culture, products and technology.
Here resides the more traditional crafts such as ukiyoe, edo-kiriko, or handmade silverware. Ever since the Edo period, Tokyo has been the beating heart of Japan and continues its evolution into its own creature of uniqueness and originality.
Being exposed to this Tokyo affect, our design team has also evolved into one that constantly creates new and exciting methods mixed in with the more traditional ones. We take great pride in being Japanese and feel responsible to preserve older technologies and traditions for the future. Our company’s mission is to retain existing landscapes surrounding architecture by recognizing and appreciating the land’s history, Tokyo’s culture and the people that constantly keep this city interesting and unique.
Never letting go of our roots, we blend the innovative “now” with the Japanese traditions and cultures. This is what we call, “Tokyo Design”

何億年という時の中で古くから人々の歴史に関わってきた素材など自然なマテリアルや東京のローカル素材、
リユース素材を多く使用しTRUNK HOTELは作られています。

ハンドクラフトの職人技術による工法や手法、日本人だからこその繊細さを感じるデザイン。

歴史的なデザインと現代的なデザイン。
エレガントとコンテンポラリー。
古いものと新しいもの。
異なった素材の組み合わせ。
対比するものの間に生まれる新しさ。

私たちは、様々な工法や素材の持つ特性などを生かしながら、TOKYO DESIGNをTRUNK HOTELで表現をしていきます。

手に触れる所は優しい素材を使用し、居心地のよい空間を作りたい。

素材やディテールには特にこだわりと思いを込めて、デザインしています。

TRUNK HOTEL is being built using natural materials, which have existed for hundreds of millions of years, and have been a part of people’s lives for centuries, as well as local materials to Tokyo, and reusable materials.

The techniques and craftsmanship by artisans are delicate designs that are characteristic of Japanese artisans.

Historical designs and modern designs.
Elegant and contemporary.
Old and new.
Combination of various materials.
Newness born within contrast.

At TRUNK HOTEL, we will express TOKYO DESIGN while making full use of various construction methods and materials.

We aim to create a comfortable space, using materials that are gentle to the touch.

We are creating a design with much thought and particular attention to detail.
